About Us

Andy Nash Accounting & Consultancy has been born from a desire to provide charities with an accounting option which has the specialist technical knowledge akin to that found within the charity teams of the top 20 accounting firms but with the personable and consistent working relationships found when partnering with smaller local firms. This ensures your charity does not have to choose between the two.

We see our clients as far more than just an important asset - they are part of the family. We want to get to know you - what makes you tick and what turns you off. The better we know you, the better job we can do and therefore the more you get for your bucks.

We don’t see you as

a client. We see you

as a partner.

We also ensure we maintain this high-level quality by being part of the ICAEW practice assurance scheme and being recognised as a member firm. This covers four main areas: laws, regulations & professional standards, client acceptance & disengagement, competence, and quality control. As part of this we have to complete annual returns to the ICAEW and are subject to monitoring visits. We are also a registered training firm with the ICAEW and therefore authorised to train ACA students, of which we currently have two.

Our founder, Andy Nash is an ICAEW ACA qualified accountant with significant experience in the third sector, including senior positions at Christian Aid and Lessons for Life Foundation. He was a finalist at the Business Finance Awards 2016 and was named by Financial Director as one of the top 35 finance professionals under 35 in May 2016.

Why us?

  • We only work with charities and other not-for-profits as we believe this is our forte. We stick to what we know and do it incredibly well!

  • Our founding director has held senior management and trustee roles in various charities which means we understand the sector and the unique challenges facing charities and not-for-profits.

  • Andy was a finalist in the Business Finance Awards in 2016. He was also listed as one of the top finance professionals under 35 – the only charity sector representative recognised in the list.

  • We are an ICAEW registered firm (firm number C004647075) and fall under their practice assurance scheme. This means we must comply with a multitude of regulations which help to ensure not just legal compliance but ethical compliance and quality assurance too.

  • We have full professional indemnity, employer’s liability, and public liability insurance from one of the world’s leading insurance providers - Hiscox - just in case things don’t go to plan.

  • Any staff or consultants working for us must be working towards or hold a CCAB qualification.

Charity Experts

  • We don’t see you as a client - you are a partner. In other words, we are on an equal footing, and it’s as important for us to listen to you as it is the other way around – you know your organisation far better than we do!

  • We want to ensure that collaboration is reflected in everything we do, so we like to have regular review meetings with our partners to ensure we are meeting your expectations and are focusing on the right areas.

  • We will be completing annual surveys with all clients to see where we can improve.

  • Our founding director is a committed Christian and he tries to ensure that these beliefs filter through into all aspects of our work.

  • We treat all the people who work alongside us with respect, whether it is our stationery suppliers, cleaners, or charities we are supporting.

  • We will not put our profit above our partners - we are not afraid to say no to work if their aims and objectives are at odds with our own approach. We focus on smaller charities as we believe budget should not impact quality.
