We provide packaged and tailored training sessions on a whole range of topics for charities and not-for-profits, drawing on Andy's significant experience in the sector and as an accountancy tutor for a national training provider.
We have several 'pre-packaged' training sessions as well as offering entirely tailored training days.
Some of the sessions we provide include:
Charity finance for beginners
This looks at a number of topics including basic financial controls, understanding charity accounts and what to look for in management accounts.
Financial governance for trustees
This looks at what it means to be a trustee, focusing on the financial governance of the organisation, as well as providing a step by step approach to reviewing and approving your annual accounts.
Financial due diligence for grant funders
This is based on a session we ran for the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation grant management team and looks at how to do an efficient but accurate financial due diligence on grant applicants, and also then how to manage any risks identified moving forward.
Financial controls in an international context
As Andy knows from his previous roles, working in an international context puts a different spin on financial controls with additional legislation and risks. This day long session explores these in more details using real life case studies to help you relate it to your work.
All our training sessions come with full training packs filled with useful resources and the days are fully interactive with activities split throughout the day. Most importantly though all participants get one of our wonderful free pens!
See our case study from the Small Charities Coaltion for an example of how this works in practice.
